Here are some utilities that we find useful in our everyday work. We present them here in the hope that one of them might help solve some problem for you too. lastdir.zip contains several files that allow you to create a batch file on the fly to return to the current drive and directory from anywhere. Unlike an environment variable, the batch file remains until deleted or overwritten, so it can be used to force a command prompt to return to one's working directory from a previous session, even after a system reboot. Read lastdir.txt for information on how to use lastdir. lnchk103.zip contains a utility that reports the length and position of the longest line in an ASCII text file, along with some other statistics. It will also warn of tabs or other control characters that can affect the apparent line length when viewing the file in an editor or viewer. Updated to handle Windows long filenames.
